At Salone del Mobile.Milano 2026, Very Wood presents Sketch Out, the first tangible outcome of a research path developed over the past years, now taking shape in both the stand and the collections on display.
The title holds a dual meaning: drawing as the origin of the project, and the act of tracing a direction. The sketch is no longer an open intuition, but a system: it defines relationships, proportions, and language. The interlocutor remains the same, but the precision of the project evolves - more constructed, more coherent in its expression, more aware of its own identity.
The 2026 novelties sit alongside existing collections within a cohesive framework. The introduction of new designers - Moreno Vannini, Calvi Brambilla and Gordon Guillaumier - expands the offering, introducing new typologies and applications, while the collaboration with Dordoni Studio continues in continuity with an already established path.
The set-up by Concetta Giannangeli translates this process into a spatial sequence. On one side, the narrative follows the project journey - from raw material to production, through to its final use. On the other, the different sectors in which Very Wood operates - hospitality, workplace, marine and education - demonstrate how this approach takes form across diverse contexts. Elementary volumes repeat and contract, building a perspective that can be physically traversed. Completing the narrative, the original illustrations by Gianluca Buttolo: graphic gestures that inhabit the space and echo, through a different medium, the same investigation into drawing.
During Milano Design Week, Very Wood will take part in Taroni’s installation The Inherent Nature of Things, set within an apartment at Piazza Castello 21.
The project explores the qualities of silk - its luminosity, tactile depth and chromatic variation - in dialogue with other materials. Within the installation, Very Wood’s Egadi 01 chairs are upholstered in Taroni’s Double Duchess fabric, presented in a range of colours, contributing to the material and visual research at the core of the exhibition.
